Our Process
The amount of guidance and support we provide during the building process revolves entirely around your needs. We can advise you on every detail from start to finish, or we can simply act as a consultant for important decisions. No matter your preference, your project begins with an exploration into your daily routines, personal style and living aspirations. It’s critical that our team achieves an innate grasp of your goals and vision at the very outset of the project.
Home Plan and Design
Once we have a thorough insight into your ideal home, it’s time to get the layout down on paper. A truly custom design reflects the lives of its inhabitants, but it also takes advantage of its surroundings. Our team incorporates your unique layout desires, storage needs and traffic flow patterns into the blueprints and specifications. But, we also consider your home’s lot and exposure, studying the sunlight, views and natural topography.
Exterior Selections
With your input, we rework, refine and finalize the layout. Now for the next step: choosing your home’s exterior materials and finishes. From windows and doors, to roofing and decking, we help you make informed choices that fit your style. Using 3-D rendering technology, we can illustrate the façade to guide choices on masonry, walls and trimming details. At this point, we’ll also consider landscaping design and any special exterior requirements.
Initial Interior Selections
Before framing begins, we meet with you to finalize radiant floor and gas line requirements. We then help you select faucets and fixtures at one of Edmonton’s best plumbing showrooms. Next, our certified kitchen design professional will translate your vision—and often-unrealized needs—into a beautiful yet functional design that incorporates your appliances. Lastly, interior stair detailing, fireplace and door selection complete this phase.
Final Interior Selections
Flooring cut-off lines, architectural trims, baseboards, decorative hardware and any unique features—we’ll guide you on these interior selections in the second phase, prior to drywall completion. Our team will also help narrow down the choices of paint colour, flooring and wall tile into manageable options that align with your home design. Finally, it’s time to choose lighting fixtures—exterior, task and accent lighting all play an important part in creating the perfect ambience.
Possession
As our talented trades construct each element of your home, consistent and straightforward communication is key. Our team maintains regular contact with you, providing a coherent vision throughout the entire building process. Then, after months of dedication, construction is finally complete. We take you through a pre-occupancy tour to tie any loose ends and address any final items. After one final occupancy walk-through, your home is yours at last.
Warranty and Service
Once you move into your new space, we want you to cherish it for years to come. We’re committed to our craft and pride ourselves on delivering uncompromising workmanship. As part of our quality assurance standards, all our homes come with a 10-year structural, 5-year building envelope, 2-year distribution and 1-year labour and materials warranty through the Alberta New Home Warranty Program.
